WELCOME TO HOWELL CANYON ESTATE
An Organic Eco-Resort and Activities Center
Howell Canyon Estate is an off-the grid, organic eco-resort located
ten miles outside of Tonasket in the wild, remote, mountainous Okanogan
Highlands of the desert area of North Central Washington State. The
200-acre Estate is extremely private, surrounded by 3,000 acres of wilderness,
and features pine forests, natural meadows, rocky cliffs, and breath-taking
mountain vistas. We are here to help you, your family, or your group
to have a great experience. We are here to take your stresses away!
You can come to the Estate just to get away from the intensity of the
city. Escape to silence: We are not in the world of motor noises. You
won’t realize how rare that is until you come to the Estate. We
are not on any airport flight paths, so aircraft noise is very rare.
Our nearest neighbor is over two miles away, so we hear no motor vehicle
noises until someone drives up our road to visit or if our very quiet
generator runs.
LET’S SAY THIS AGAIN: There is no noise, just the sounds of
the birds, the wind, our windmill, the insects, or the lonesome howl
of the coyotes. The low mountains to the north effectively block all
electromagnetic signals (EMFs). So here is a place where there are no
wireless networks, no microwaves, and nearly no cell phone signals.
It is an amazing natural area for peace and quiet. A fabulous place
for meditation! An amazing place to connect with nature! An incredible
place to clear the flotsam and jetsam out of your brain!
The rooms at the Estate are innovative and unique! No two rooms are
alike. Since this was originally an off-the-grid, extended family home
and retreat center, we have a variety of rooms to offer: Click

We love creative people! The guest rooms at the Estate are great for
intensive work. All of our rooms feature small desks and have an excellent,
LAN-wired high-speed Internet, and have marvelous views to enliven your
creative experience. We have the option of supplying you with local
phones in your room, you can use your online services like Skype, or
you can hike up the hill beyond the windmill and sit on a convenient
bench to use your cell phone.
Need a break? Go for a hike. We find spending time on Chatunza Mountain
to be especially useful when we need creative inspiration. Or you can
take a sauna. Consider a soak in one of the hot tubs. Watch a movie.
Read a book. Then, back to work! It’s all under your control.
Come stay for a night, a week, or a month. We will support you in your
endeavors, and the longer you stay, the better our prices will become.
You will never find a better place to create your new project.
The Estate has a number of spaces to host your small meeting or conference
while you enjoy the amenities of a spectacular rural location. Do you
have two to twenty people on your project team? Bring them to the Estate
for some rest and relaxation. Sometimes it just takes going for a group
hike, sharing beer and wine, or going on a white water trip to forge
a powerful new group identity. With the cobwebs from the city cleared
away, your team will find new breakthroughs, new ideas, and better communication.
The Estate is the place to do this!
The Estate is available for weddings and other catered live events.
You can reserve the entire Estate for your family, group, or organization!
We have accommodations that can sleep up to 14 in our Log House, up

overnight, and then there is the Camping Area too! In combination with
our basic Estate kitchen, we have a nearby licensed catering service
that has a fabulous selection of local natural and organic foods, including
local baked goods and exotic game meats, so that the Estate can provide
exactly the food and beverage services that you desire.

For most guests, the Estate features the meal plan of traditional American
inns: each guest is provided with breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Our
kitchen features, as much as possible, the foods from our local Okanogan
farms and orchards to provide our guests with wholesomely-raised local
grains, fruits, vegetables, dairy products, eggs, and meats. We do our
very best to provide organically-raised foods. We are committed to using
as many locally-made and -grown organic products as we can so that we
maintain our support of the local farmers and sustainable agriculture.
