Tonasket Property Directions From Western Washington

From I-90

Go east on I-90 from the Seattle area for more than an hour, over Snoqualmie Pass and beyond.
Just past the first Cle Elum Exit 85, there is Exit 87 to go north to Wenatchee on Highway 970. Take that. Highway 970 will merge with Highway 97.
Follow the highway for over 30 minutes, over Blewett Pass, until the road merges with Highway 2.
Turn right towards Wenatchee.

From I-5, drive to Everett and take exit 194—Highway 2. Drive east on Highway 2 all the way to Wenatchee (about 2 hours).
FROM WENATCHEE
When you drive through Wenatchee, follow the signs for Highway 2/Highway 97 North. You will cross the Columbia River. (If you follow highway 97A, you won’t go over the Columbia River and you will drive through Chelan instead, a pleasant alternative, before rejoining Highway 97).
Stay on Highway 97 when Highway 2 goes east from Orondo.
After traveling for about 2 hours (and passing through the towns of Okanogan and Omak), you will arrive at the small town of Tonasket.

Go past the Highway 20 intersection. Bear right when the road bends left. There will be a sign that says Road to Havillah. This street will be marked Jonathon Street. (If you see the IGA Grocery on your right, you’ve gone too far.)
After going more than 3 miles, turn right on Siwash Creek Road. 2 miles later, take the first major right onto Rhemke Road. 2 miles later (after the big log house on the left and crossing a cattle guard) just after the road make a wide turn to the right, Go straight ahead to Howell Canyon Road before Rhemke Road turns to the left.
You will drive through a farmer’s wheat field and then cross another cattle guard. Stay right and go another 2 miles until the road dead ends at the House of the Estate. Phone there is (509) 486-0587.

This is one of the most scenic highways in North America. If you have time, drive to the Estate this way!
From North of Burlington, Drive I-5 South to Burlington and follow Highway 20 East to Rockport
From I-5, drive north of Everett and take exit 208 and follow Highway 530 East through Arlington, Darrington, and Rockport, until it connects with Highway 20 East in Rockport. Dr. Howell’s grandfather once had a shingle mill where the County Park is now located on the Skagit River.

FROM ROCKPOT
Drive east on Highway 20 past the wonderful original Cascadian Farms ice cream stand, through Marblemount, Newhalem, the fabulous North Cascade National Park, over Rainy Pass, over Washington Pass, the frontier town of Winthrop, and Twisp, all the way to Highway 97, where you will come out in Okanogan (about 4 hours). Watch for the signs for Highway 97 North.
27 miles later you will arrive at the small town of Tonasket.

FROM TONASKET

FASTER, EASIER ROUTE TO TONASKET: From the Spokane Airport, take Highway 2 West until you get to Raymond. Take the highway to Coulee City. Drive past Grand Coulee Dam and then take Highway 153 to Omak driving through the Colville Indian Reservation. When you reach Omak, follow Highway 97 North to Tonasket.

SCENIC MOUNTAIN ROUTE TO TONASKET: From the Spokane Airport, go East on Interstate 90 to Division Street North. Follow this road, which will become Highway 395 to Kettle Falls. The highway will be renamed as Highway 20 somewhere along here. Follow the Highway through Republic all the way to Tonasket.

FROM TONASKET TO THE ESTATE: Go right at the stop sign when Highway 20 meets Highway 97. Bear right when the road bends left. There will be a sign that says Road to Havillah. This street will be marked Jonathon Street. (If you see the IGA Grocery on your right, you’ve gone too far.)
